Monthly Prayer Walk

Every month, we get together to walk and pray (either silently or aloud) over our neighborhood – Adams to Dot Ave. and Gallivan to King – and we’d love it if you’d join us.  Our next prayer walk will be Monday, July 5^th, at 10 AM (rain or shine).  Come out and exercise your Spirit and body while we amble and intercede about Ashmont.

Prayer Meeting

An important aspect of Christian community is intercession, and the Scriptures tell us to pray for each other (James 5:16).  Join Pastor Mike and others in the church family every Wednesday at 7:00 PM as we reach up to heaven in response to the needs of the church and her neighbors.  If you have a need you would like lifted by God’s people, fill out the back of the response tab of any Sunday morning’s worship folder and hand it to an usher, call the church offices at (617) 825-7832 or e-mail the pastor at calbapt@msn.com.

Men’s Group Study

The next meetings of the men’s group will be Tuesday, July 6^th and 20^th at 7 PM.  At that time, we will be discussing the disciplines of perseverance (6^th) and church (20^th) as laid out in R. Kent Hughes’ classic book, Disciplines of a Godly Man.  These evenings will also include a time of Spirit-building conversation and prayer.  All men are encouraged to attend.

Participate in Summer School

We invite you to participate in a season of inter-generational Bible lessons (July 11, 18, August 1, 8, 22 and 29), a missions project (July 4), a morning movie (July 25), a ‘game show’ (August 15) and a pancake breakfast (September 5).  Whether you are young or old, or you are a regular to Sunday school or it’s your first time, we hope you’ll join us during the Sunday school hour (9:30 – 10:30 AM) in Axberg Hall each week this summer!

FNGR Dinner

Come for supper with the church family on Friday, July 16^th, at 6:30 PM.    This evening, called our FNGR Dinner, meaning ‘For No Good Reason’, is a night out of the house with no agenda except to have a meal and a conversation together.  There’s nothing to bring (except an appetite) and no offering will be accepted.  We pray you’ll join us for whatever is on the menu..

Boston ’10 – Good News Across America

We have the blessing of participating with Child Evangelism Fellowship to reach the children of our community with the gospel.  Missionaries will gather in the city from July 19-31, with the primary outreach being during the week of July 26^th.  We are seeking volunteers to: a.) pray for the outreach, b.) promote the clubs in the neighborhood, c.) participate by ministering with the kids and/or d.) celebrate the power of God at a rally on Friday night, July 30^th.  All those interested in volunteering or looking for more information should speak to Pastor Mike.

Housing Needed

 A group of 7-8 middle-school students from Iowa are visiting Boston from Friday thru Monday, August 13-16, and will need a place to sleep and shower.  If you’d be able to assist, please speak to Pastor Mike.
