Monthly Prayer Walk

Every month, we get together to walk and pray (either silently or aloud) over our neighborhood – Adams to Dot Ave. and Gallivan to King – and we’d love it if you’d join us.  Our next prayer walk will be Monday, March 1^st, at 10 AM (snow or shine).  Come out and exercise your Spirit and body while we amble and intercede about Ashmont.

Prayer Meeting

An important aspect of Christian community is intercession, and the Scriptures tell us to pray for each other (James 5:16).  Join Pastor Mike and others in the church family every Wednesday in March at 8:00 PM as we reach up to heaven in response to the needs of the church and her neighbors.  If you have a need you would like lifted by God’s people, fill out the back of the response tab of any Sunday morning’s worship folder and hand it to an usher, call the church offices at (617) 825-7832 or e-mail the pastor at calbapt@msn.com.

Men’s Group Study

The next meetings of the men’s group will be Tuesday, March 2^nd, 16^th and 30^th, at 7 PM.  At that time, we will be discussing the disciplines of fatherhood (2^nd) friendship (16^th) and mind (30^th) as laid out in R. Kent Hughes’ classic book, Disciplines of a Godly Man.  These evenings will also include a time of Spirit-building conversation and prayer.  All men are encouraged to attend.

Lenten Study

We invite the entire congregation to join us this Lenten season on Wednesdays at 7 PM as we study the Bible with the booklet Did Christ Really Rise From the Dead?.  Each week we’ll look at evidences verifying the answer to this 2,000 year old question.  Contact Pastor Mike at calbapt@msn.com or [617] 825-7832 if you are interested in getting more information about this special study.

Women’s Bible Study

Trust issues develop because people fail us. But biblical truths have the power to sustain us because God’s Word never fails.  Join teacher Kay Arthur and other women every Thursday morning at 10 AM for Covenant: God’s Enduring Promises – an 8-week inductive Bible study that will teach you how to seek and find these truths through documented covenants.  Those looking for more information can reach Jeanine Ferrini at jeanineandmike@comcast.net.

Youth Group

Teens are encouraged to attend this month’s meetings of “The Way”, our multi-church youth program, on Friday, March 5^th and 19^th, at 7 PM.  This ministry, held at Evangelical Congregational Church (136 Sagamore St, N. Quincy), includes times of celebration, challenge, creativity and connection.

Eat Out On Us

We invite you to join us at the next FNGR (“for no good reason”) Dinner at 6:30 PM on Friday, March 12^th.  This is a special time for genuine fellowship and uplifting conversation as we join together simply to share supper as the family of God.   

4^th Friday Fun Night

This month’s special program for children ages 2-12 is a Movie Night – the newest VeggieTales production, Pistachio!!  All the kids are encouraged to come out to the church on Friday, March 26^th, at 7:00 PM for 120 minutes of games, snacks, biblical teachings, singing, crafts and other surprises.  KIDS – Join is for this fun night, complete with popcorn and surprises.  ADULTS – Contact the church office if you’d like to add a child to the invitation list or volunteer to assist us with this program.
